Srinath to replace injured Nehra for ICC final

Indian pacer Javagal Srinath who had announced his retirement from Test cricket after his return from the Caribbean tour earlier this year, has been asked to reinforce the Indian team for the final of the ICC Champions Trophy in Colombo.

He will replace left-arm quickie Ashish Nehra, who required stitches to his bowling hand after splitting his webbing in the thrilling 10-run victory in the first semi-final over the South Africans at the R.Premadasa stadium on Wednesday.

Srinath, whose name didn't figure in the list of probables for the 12-nation event in the Emerald Isles, has been playing active cricket, turning out for Leicestershire as their overseas pro for the fag end of the just concluded county season.
